Miner with equipment for alluvial gold mining, Copperfield
This photograph depicts a man posing with some of the equipment that was standard for wet-processing methods when mining alluvial gold along the Copperfield River, Oaks Goldfield, Queensland. This barefoot miner appears to be clad in a Crimean shirt, moleskin trousers and a felt hat, which was standard among North Queensland miners of the time.
